Product Spotlight: The EasyStand Strapstand

The Strapstand is an innovative strap-style stander with a unique lifting design that reduces pressure on the user’s knees.

Last month we turned the spotlight on the EasyStand Evolv, and this month it’s the turn of the Strapstand. One of our best-selling products, the Strapstand is an innovative strap-style stander with a unique lifting design that reduces pressure on the user’s knees.

In this article, we’ll explain how the Strapstand differs from other strap-style standers on the market, running through each of its key features in detail. If you’d like to learn more about the Strapstand or book a demonstration, please feel free to get in touch with our team today.

What makes the Strapstand unique?

Let’s start with the basics. As we mentioned above, the Strapstand is one of EasyStand’s best-selling products, and one of its most affordable too. Like all EasyStand standing frames, it was designed from the outset with safety and independence in mind – and, like our other products, it’s packed with innovative features. Here’s your guide to the unique attributes of the Strapstand.

Unique lifting design

Perhaps the most distinctive feature of the Strapstand is its innovative lifting design. While other strap-style standing frames push the user’s knees into a pad, effectively ‘forcing’ the sit to stand transition, the Strapstand’s lifting arms gradually lift the user vertically and then pull them upright in one smooth motion.

Not only is this more comfortable for the user, it dramatically reduces pressure on the knees, preventing further complications in the long run.

No transfers necessary

Remember how we said that the Strapstand was built from the outset with independence in mind? One of the clearest examples of this philosophy is the fact that no transfer is required when using the Strapstand: the user can enter the standing position directly from their wheelchair or bed.

The adjustable lifting straps make it easy for the user to get comfortable and lift themselves into the standing position safely – and at their own pace.

Adaptable and reconfigurable

Another feature the Strapstand has in common with other EasyStand products is its adaptability. With a modular design and a wide variety of optional extras and add-ons available to choose from, the Strapstand can be quickly and easily adapted to suit anyone.

This is particularly useful for those with progressive disabilities such as ALS and MS; as the user’s needs change over time, the Strapstand can be altered to suit them, all without the need for specialised tools. With more than 30 different support and positioning components to choose from, the Strapstand is remarkably versatile.

Security and safety

Robust lifting  and upper body support straps, plus grab handles and hand grips, provide the user with ample support throughout the sit to stand transition.

Swing-out legs for wider wheelchairs

Optional swing-out legs are ideal for those with wider wheelchairs. Quick and easy to reposition, the Strapstand’s adjustable legs allow the user to position themselves in front of the frame with ease, further boosting their independence.
